It’s Quadrille Monday over at the dVerse Poets Pub!  Today our prompt is the word, glow.

That exquisite glow

in your velvet-brown eyes —

even the flecks of amber sparkle

like topaz bathed in moonlight.

I try to imagine

what thoughts may evoke

such magic,

but it is quite

it has nothing

in the world

to do with me.

  1. Oh…’s really true isn’t it? Some people’s eyes…just by nature of their color and depth, actually sparkle. I’m reminded of my grandaughter’s blue blue eyes that make you feel like you’re diving into a pool when you look at them. But then the ending of the poem is the twist….these eyes described here, have nothing to do with the one who finds them so beautiful. A sad ending.
