I may as well have tried
to tame a Mustang stallion
or steal a mirage
thinking my charms were enough
to capture your heart and
you would love me back.

I guess charm wasn’t enough – so sad.

I’ve learned charm is rarely enough. Sometimes it works as a Band-Aid. Thank you, Truedessa!

Sometimes love is impossible, unfortunately.
The brevity of your poem is very effective. A perfect pairing!

But if you hadn’t tried, you would always have dreamed about taming the horse…

This is true, Bjorn. However, I also would not have been kicked in the teeth by said horse. Either way in my experience, the heart does what it wants and we hope for the best. 🙂
